PROGRAMS AND PRICING
The Arizona Center for Teacher Preparation (AZCTP) is dedicated to placing qualified teachers in the classroom through alternative teaching certification. We offer two programs needed to earn your certification, a pedagogy program and a mentorship program. Read below for more information on our program and program pricing.
The Arizona Center for Teacher Preparation offers two programs that, when combined together, will certify you to become a teacher in the state of Arizona.
1. The Classroom Qualifier program covers pedagogy, also known as the Principles of Teaching. This program is self-paced and online. You will be given study materials online (don’t worry, you can print off the study materials if needed) to read and review at your own pace. These materials cover the essentials of teaching, from managing a classroom and working with parents to disciplining.
You will study these materials wherever and whenever you are able to and take practice exams to determine when you feel comfortable with the material. When you are ready, you will take the Principles of Teaching (PTK) exam at the Pearson VUE testing center nearest you. After passing your exam and fulfilling other Arizona state requirements, you will be able to move forward in the process to becoming a teacher.
You will have up to one year to study and pass your exam, though you can certainly complete the Classroom Qualifier program in less time. On average students take 7-10 months to complete the program, but we have had students finish in 2-3 months. It all depends on how many hours you are able to dedicate toward studying weekly.
Many students work full-time jobs while studying for the PTK. Again, where, when, and how long you study each week is up to you.
2. The Employed Internship will allow you to experience teaching with the guidance of a seasoned veteran. After successfully completing Arizona state teaching requirements, you will be able to apply for an open teaching position and begin teaching in an Arizona public school.
During your first year in the classroom you will be paired with an experienced educator in your school for classroom observations and mentorship. That pro will be there to help you with any questions, insight, and feedback you may need.
After your first year of teaching, successful completion of your Employed Internship, and further Arizona Department of Education requirements, you will be able to upgrade your teaching certificate into a Provisional (and then later a Standard) teaching license.

$3850 for installment payment plan
Covers both the Classroom Qualifier program, Employed Internship program, and all testing and program fees.
INSTALLMENT PAYMENT PLANS
If you are unable to make a one-time payment of $1950 for the Bundled Program, you may pay with an installment plan. This plan divides the full cost of the program ($3850) over 8 monthly payments.
Payments will be charged to your account on the 15th of every month beginning with the month after you first enroll. Your first payment will be taken on the day you enroll. For instance, if you enroll and make your first payment on June 30, your next payment will be on July 15. If you make your first payment on February 1, your next payment will be on March 15. The flexibility of the enrollment date and first payment allows you to plan accordingly.
